At the '16th Korea International Logistics Exhibition (KOREA MAT 2026),' held at KINTEX in Goyang from Tuesday, March 31 to Friday, April 3, Park Jeong-gu, CEO of Juyoung PNS, showcased the eco-friendly pallet packaging material, ‘Eco-Bundle,’ and expressed strong confidence toward the era of carbon neutrality.
Under the management philosophy that "the highest quality is the greatest competitiveness," Juyoung PNS has built an automated production system and grown its global competitiveness by producing the largest scale of sling belts and cargo ratchet straps in Korea. CEO Park has boldly thrown down the gauntlet of ‘reuse’ to solve the chronic problem of single-use plastic wrap waste in logistics sites.
Eco-Bundle reduces waste by 98%, capturing both economic viability and environmental protection!
The Eco-Bundle, ambitiously introduced by Juyoung PNS, is an innovative logistics packaging solution that can be reused for up to 5 years instead of single-use plastic wrap. It securely wraps cargo with high-tenacity PVC fabric, and is designed to be collected and reapplied after use.
"While plastic wrap must be torn and discarded at the destination, the Eco-Bundle can be used repeatedly for about 5 years or more," explained CEO Park. "Through this, we can reduce waste emissions by nearly 98%, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 95% after 100 uses." Notably, regarding costs, he explained that it offers an 84% reduction effect compared to conventional plastic wrap after one year of use.
Safety and maintenance costs have also been significantly enhanced. All parts are designed to be modular, allowing for the replacement of only damaged sections, and the fabric strength is extremely robust, reaching approximately 1.7 tons. In particular, through a special hook device that secures the lower pallet as well, it can prevent cargo displacement even during sudden vibrations.
‘Global Regulations’ such as EU PPWR... A Survival Strategy for Exporting Companies
What CEO Park is focusing on most recently is the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which will be fully implemented starting in August 2026. This is expected to act as a powerful non-tariff barrier regulating the entire lifecycle of packaging materials.
Generally, many domestic exporting companies think they can respond with simple Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, but the PPWR is on a different level. This is because they must prove the structure, recyclability, and optimization of packaging materials through technical documentation of thesis-level quality. CEO Park emphasized, "The Eco-Bundle will be the answer that best fits Europe's strong 'command' to redesign packaging from the ground up."
With plastic material prices recently skyrocketing due to the Iran-U.S. conflict, CEO Park's foresight is shining even brighter. This is because market interest has exploded in reusable packaging, which is free from the instability of raw material supply.
Of course, introducing a new method to logistics sites was not an easy task. Resistance from incumbent workers who had been accustomed to plastic wrap for decades was stronger than expected.
CEO Park explained, "At first, workers were unfamiliar with it and showed resistance, but after using it for about a week, their reactions began to change," adding, "This is because they were able to feel that putting on an Eco-Bundle is much less strenuous and faster than wrapping plastic around by turning their bodies over and over." In fact, companies like Ilyang Logistics have already been using Eco-Bundles consistently for over two years, proving their efficiency.
Aiming at the Global Market in 2026... “A Choice for Future Generations”
CEO Park Jeong-gu has set this year as the first year of his global leap forward. He plans to prove the technical prowess of the Eco-Bundle at global logistics exhibitions, such as ‘interpack 2026’ in Germany this coming May and ‘ALL4PACK EMBALLAGE PARIS’ in November. He has already completed design registrations in Japan and China, and is currently in the process of applying in the U.S.
